Ed O'Brien told a BBC reporter at the Ivor Novello Awards that "We just haven't made any firm plans about what we're going to do yet". He went on to say "We just wanted to get this past year out of our systems then sit down and once we've had some time to think about it, then actually make some decisions about what comes next" and "We're just recharging our batteries and we know that we want to come back and make some music together, hopefully in the not-too-distant future" ending with "But we just want to take our time and make sure it's the right time for us".

Jonny Greenwood has become Radio 3's composer in residence, taking over from the Art of Noise's Anne Dudley. The role is expected to last three years, although his work with the BBC will be fitted around recording and touring with Radiohead. While Jonny has no training in classical composition, he is a classically trained viola player. During his time with the BBC, Jonny will be committed to writing a single piece for the BBC, but timescale and duration of the piece is up to him.
