9 February: Radiohead win two awards at 2009 Grammys
Radiohead have won "Best alternative album" for In Rainbows and "Best boxed or special limited edition package" also for In Rainbows (thanks to art direction by Stanley Donwood, Mel Maxwell and Christiaan Munro) at the 2009 Grammy awards. Radiohead were initially nominated for 5 awards. In addition, Thom and Jonny performed a version of 15 Step with 32 members of The University of Southern California (USC) Trojan Marching Band.
7 February: Radiohead CD / DVD collectors edition albums
Play.com currently has special CD / DVD editions of Pablo Honey, The Bends and OK Computer listed for release on March 23rd 2009. Each album features the original tracks plus a bonus CD of b-sides, demos, remixes and live recordings as well as a DVD featuring single videos and live performances. Great stuff! Hopefully Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief will get similar treatment in due course.
4 June: Thom Yorke "solo" album
Thom Yorke's 9 track album The Eraser will be available from 10th July 2006 according to most sources. The project has been produced by Nigel Godrich who has of course produced most of the Radiohead albums. Check out the album's own website.
29 May: Thom helps launch The Big Ask
This week Thom has been talking about his backing of Friends of the Earth's Big Ask campaign, which is urging ministers to bring in new laws to curb CO2 emissions by three percent a year. Speaking on BBC Breakfast programme Thom said "A 3% reduction in carbon emissions year on year is the only sane solution to this problem." and "There are a series of very large villains that the government know about that need to be dealt with". Friends of the Earth also have a short interview with Thom on their website.
17 June: Radiohead on Later with Jools Holland
This weeks Later with Jools Holland will be a Cool Britannia special to tie in with the new DVD of the same name. The show and will contain RadioheadÂ´s performance of The Bends (from series 5). The BBC2 show will be broadcast on Friday 18th June 2004 at 23:35.
